Inspection of datafile showed that the flowmeter sensor was not functioning. I reversed the sensor polarity and then it worked fine. At 3.5E3 gpm, the meter appeared to register 2 or 3 pulses per minute.

THROW-OUT PUMP STATION

I worked on testing the throwout pump pulse sensor from 9:50-10:30 AM. It appears that the sensor cannot detect the high speed pulses during pump operation. It only detects pulses when the pump is shutting down and the pulley is rotating slowly.

The float switch that controls the pump offers another method to monitor the pump operation. It has 2 switch terminals. The active terminal is 30 VAC while the pump is off and 0 VAC while the pump is on. The other terminal has no continuity while the pump is off and has continuity while the pump is on.
