23 March-3 April 1987: Workshop on Peanut Production and Modeling. Over thirty participants from India, Africa, Thailand, and Sri Lanka attended.

21 January-14 February 1987: Short course on Design and Management of Experiments andData Collection for Validating Crop Models at the University of Hawaii, Honolulu. Twelve participants from Thailand, Fiji, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Guam, and US were trained in experimentation, data collection, processing, and crop model simulations.
