The actual way of development that is occurring in the Northeast of Brazil is causing serious difficulty, principally if one considers the water resources problems that exist in the region . The constant dry seasons that occur systematically there, together with the bad water resources management, have brought enormous trouble for all that population, not only due to the water supply systems, but also due to all agriculture activities that are going on there. This research makes analysis of the vulnerability of that region, with respect to dry seasons, as it establishes some relationships with sustainable development. The work makes a sensible analysis about the water quality impact, with respect to salinity and pollution, caused by the dry seasons, and it makes a prediction about these difficulties with respect to global climate changes, in the future. The results have shown that during dry seasons, the salinity levels increase very fast, due to the high level of evaporation that occurs in the reservoir systems. In the same way, these results have shown that the risk of pollution becomes more intense, because of the low flow rate of the rivers. Some politics that could change this stage of degradation are being proposed, so that they can decrease the vulnerability of the region and increase the chances of a sustainable development.
