Graduate Application Procedures
Applicants must complete the on-line application and provide the materials requested by the University of Florida Graduate School.
Students must apply and submit all required materials and scores by February 15th for admission to the Fall semester, and by July 1st for admission to the Spring semester.
The following materials will be required of all applicants.
- copies of official transcripts from each college or university attended
- official GRE scores and TOEFL scores (if required) (UF Code 5812, ABE Dept. Code 1602)
- a statement of purpose (proposed area of study)
- letters of recommendation

Assistantships are awarded on a competitive basis, when available, to students wishing to pursue a degree with research thesis or dissertation. To apply for an assistantship, please complete and return the assistantship application to the Graduate Coordinator and have three letters of recommendation completed by three of your professors or supervisors and returned directly to the Graduate Coordinator.
Note: Assistantships for the Fall semester are often awarded at the beginning of the calendar year.
STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY FOR ADMISSION AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE IN ORDER TO OBTAIN ONE OF THE LIMITED ASSISTANCESHIPS AVAILABLE.
